The Chinese Government has released a White Paper, detailing the progress made in Human Rights in 2013.

The document covers nine aspects, including social security rights, democratic rights, and personal rights.

In 2013, the anuual per capita net income for both urban and rural residents increased. For rural residents,  it was up 9.3% over the previous year in resl terms.

Meanwhile, for urban residents, it was up 7%.

By the end of the 2013, the number of the people covered by the new rural and urban social endowment insurance system by 13.8 million.  

the internet has become an important channel for citiznes to express opinion, and interact.They were nearly 600 million internet users in China in 2013.

More than tw0-thirds of them accessed the internet via mobilphone.

China did away with the re-education through labour system  for minor crimes.

And China also conducted active international culture exchanges, and cooperation and signed 26 international covenants on human rights.

Last November, China was elected to the Human Rights Council for the 2014 to 2016 term
